TRUE™ Proposes Legislation to make Online Dating Safer Than Ever.

It is an unfortunate truth that criminals and sexual predators are increasingly using the Internet to find their victims, and with an estimated 20 million singles using the Internet worldwide to find new friends, contacts or true love through online dating sites, it is becoming more difficult to determine whether the people you are connecting with are genuine or not.

For this very reason, True, originally TRUEBeginnings™, has launched a state-by-state campaign in support of legislation requiring online dating services to conduct criminal background checks or to prominently disclose to its members if an online dating service chooses not to provide this safety-enhancing service. This legislation has already gained prominent support as Senator John Carona and State Representative Will Hartnett have been the first to join True's safety movement as sponsors of the legislation in their home town of Texas closely followed a week later by State Representatives William J. Seitz and Scott Oelslager from Ohio, the second group of lawmakers to embrace True's monumental legislative movement.
